  5. Forum Expectations and Guildelines
    • Presentation Areas - The presentation areas are broken down into categories such asn Nature/Wildlife, Landscape, Cityscapes, etc. These are meant as venues to showcase and share shots with the group. Everyone is welcome to share their own imagery and show support for others whose imagery you also find appealing. It is helpful to note that the presentation area is not intended as a venue for critiques. Having said that, there are some members that welcome critiques in any venue. These members often include in their postings common phrases and symbols such as "C&C welcome" (comments and critiques), or "feedback desired". In the absence of such notations, critiques are not appropriate content for the Presentation categories.
    • Tech Talk - The Tech Talk area is intended to serve as a venue to talk about and share thoughts on the various technicalities of photography. With the area divided into Cameras, Accessories, Post Processing and Lighting, that should serve as ample fodder for the gear heads among the organization.
    • Activities - This area is intended to serve as an arena for discussing various activities.
      • Monthly Assignment - This category is a venue to encourage creativity within in a certain month. Each month new subjects are announced to give everyone new ideas to explore.
      • The Guild Says is a category intended to offer focused attention on a specific subject matter that is on-going and not limited by time.
      • Member Meetings and Events - This area is intended to serve as a venue to discuss future meetings, outings, and events that may be of interest to SCPG members. Since meeting for a shoot is an activity, this category is included here.
      • Photo Critique - This is the section where members may submit works for objective critiques and analyses of their work. Expect to receive both positive feedback and areas for improvement in this area. Additionally, if offering critiques and feedback in this section, it is always helpful to be specific. An entire article has been written that looks at how to critique photos, and all are encouraged to read this for ideas of how to approach critiqing photography. It can be found in the articles section, or via direct link here How to Critique Photography
    • Open Info Talk - This area is intended to give a more loosely monitored section where everyone can just "shoot the breeze", take part in conversations tangential to or completely unrelated to photography. it is broken down into the Coffee Shop(no holds barred), the Buy/Sell Forum, and the Diversions threads.
    • Administration - This area is for just that, discussions of an administrative nature. Forum updates, site updates, member serivces, and such are all diverted to this area so that the site administration team can readily identify matters of this nature quickly and efficiently. These are pretty much self-explanatory, so if there are questions on the types of content to post here, please email or send a member of the moderating/administration team a private message your question and we will respond to you as soon as we can. Thanks.
