I probably would have been inclined to crop some; to me, the bright lights at the right edge are distracting. The moving boat is a little less so. With the bridge being so far away in the picture, and without your comment about only half of the bridge being lit, it's not quite so obvious to me that the bridge is what you were intending to be the focal point.
Something like this (hope you don't mind me messing with your photo!). My photog teacher would have a cow because there are now two focal points (bridge and boat), but I tried a crop w/o the boat and there didn't seem to be enough interesting going on in the photo without it.

Great points... you're making me think ! Thank you !
The bridge itself 'should' be the focal point. The boat was incidental...and I thought added a little flavor. It may be that it's just too much to make the photo work. I have another shot without the boat. I might go back and upload another.
I was torn about the bright lights on the right side. It's obvious to me now that they need to go. |
